iRVision (FANUC)
Also known as: FANUC iRVision
German: iRVision
In industrial robotics, iRVision is the machine vision function integrated into FANUC robot controllers, used for 2D and 3D vision guidance, part location and inspection, configured through the robot's own interface.

In one sentence
iRVision is FANUC's machine vision function integrated in its robot controllers for vision guidance, part location and inspection.
Example
iRVision locates randomly placed castings on the conveyor and corrects the robot's pick position by the found offset.
How it applies
- Engineering: Because vision runs in the robot controller, no separate vision PC is needed and calibration data is shared with the robot. Available functions depend on controller version and options. Typical uses include picking parts from conveyors, correcting positions of fixtures and checking parts before placement.
- Commissioning: Camera calibration, vision process setup and robot offset handling are configured together; after camera or tool changes, recalibration is required. Vision results are available directly as position registers in the robot program.
- Documentation: The documentation team should document the vision processes, calibration data, software options and backup procedures, using the vendor's terms for menus and functions.
Keep in mind: Product names, options and features change. Check every statement against the vendor's current documentation before publishing.
