Lexium servo systems
Also known as: Schneider Electric Lexium
German: Lexium Servosysteme
In motion control, Lexium is Schneider Electric's product family of servo drives, servo motors and related motion products for machine automation.
- Motion control
- Vendor product
In one sentence
Lexium is Schneider Electric's family of servo drives, servo motors and related motion products for machines.
Example
A packaging machine uses Lexium servo drives and motors controlled over a real-time Ethernet network by a motion controller.
How it applies
- Engineering: Drives and motors from one family are selected together with the manufacturer's sizing tools; cables and encoders must match.
- Commissioning: Parameters are set with the vendor's software and saved with the machine configuration.
- Documentation: In the machine's documentation, list the drive and motor types in the parts list and refer to the vendor's manuals for device-level details. Describe integrated safety functions such as Safe Torque Off (STO) only as far as the machine uses and validates them; the presence of the function in the drive does not make the machine safe.
Keep in mind: Product names, series and features change. Check them against Schneider Electric's current documentation before naming specific Lexium models.
